"The Spirit of Being Studious and Creative" has been deeply embedded in the Toyota Way in all areas of operations — ever since the concept was very first introduced by Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, Ltd. It is the fundamental concept behind "Good Thinking, Good Products," the slogan adorning Toyota factories around the globe. It was born from the Toyota Creative Ideas and Suggestions System (TCISS), which encourages employees to suggest improvements at work.
The system was introduced by Managing Director Eiji Toyoda when it became clear during the post Second World War economic recovery that Toyota's production facilities needed to be modernized. Toyoda took the idea from a Ford Motor Company plant which he had visited in July 1950. A suggestion system employed by Ford placed emphasis on supporting its improvement activities through opinions not only from the factory, but also from the management side.

Based on this system, Toyota sought, not simply to copy, but to improve the system in line with the Toyota Way and established the TCISS in May 1951. Although the TCISS offered incentives to employees, the real value of the system was that it provided motivation to employees by focusing on their skills and creativity. The TCISS systemized the practices that had been customary since the time of Toyota Motor Corporation founder Kiichiro Toyoda: respecting opinions from production and sales and conducting spontaneous on-site inspections while simultaneously inviting suggestions for improvements. With this development in mind and to inspire employee participation, a company slogan, "Good Thinking, Good Products," was picked at an in-house contest in 1953 and is still used to this day.

As the years passed, the TCISS became steadily more productive. Teams were formed to create ideas for improvements, and the suggestions themselves became more substantial as all employees were encouraged to review their jobs constantly and implement improvements.
This Kaizen (continuous improvement) Spirit has continued to develop over the years and is deeply embedded in Toyota's culture, not only in production but also in sales operations around the globe.

A 27-year old notorious criminal who happens to be a bank robbery suspect explained how Governor Seriake Dickson ofBayelsa state appointed him as a special adviser

– The hardened criminal named Ikadoi Isere is also known as ‘White Witch’– White Witch was apprehended by men of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT)

– He gave a stunning revelation during interview, stating that the Bayelsa state governor appointed him as special adviser on oil and gas matters before he was arrested Isere, an indigene of Nembe local government area of Bayelsa state was not the only notorious criminal nabbed. The other members, who were arrested with him were Daniel Gogo, alias ‘Full Payment’ and one Ifeanyi Kalu.

According to Vanguard, the three men were accused of being involved in at least 15 bank and bullion van robbery and kidnappings across Port-Harcourt, Rivers state and some South East states.

Full-Payment gave an explicit narration of all that transpired, as gathered by Vanguard, as he started his confession by saying:“I am a member of Icelander Confraternity and I am the executioner in-charge of Nembe local government area of Bayelsa state. My elder brother IJB, who is also a member of Vikings linked me to my boss, Full-Payment, who is also a member of Vikings and he asked him to assist me. He accepted and brought me into the gang. At that time, I was highly frustrated because after I finished learning underwater welding through the Presidential Amnesty Program, I had no job.
I wasn’t getting the complete amount from the stipend given to ex-militants of the Niger Delta. Before the money will get to me, it has gone through several persons and when I will receive mine, it will remain only N20, 000. There was nothing I could do with such an amount. I have a wife and children to fend for and my siblings are still in school and they are looking up to me.”Gogo added by giving an insight into the gang’s first operation:

“The first operation I went with the gang was at Uguruta Junction on the Port-Harcourt International Airport Road. We attacked some vehicles conveying a huge sum of money in foreign currency. We killed all the policemen escorting them including a man the police identified as the Regional Manager of the bank where the money came from.

After that operation, I was given N3million as my share and when I got home, I gave my sister who had already dropped out of school some money to go back to school. I also gave some money to my younger brother who was also in school. I used part of it to establish a little business for my wife.”He continued on the other operation carried out, stating that,“seven months after that operation, my boss told me that there was a job for us at a bank in Trans-Amadi in Port-Harcourt. We were five persons who went for that operation and our target was a bullion van offloading money into the bank. Two members of our gang walked into the bank like customers who wanted to make use of the ATM, with short guns and shot into the air when they got close to a point where the bullion van was. The people offloading the money absconded. We drove our car into the bank and carted away a large sum of money which our vehicle could carry since we came with just one car. At the end our operation, I got N12million as my share.
My boss and others who are seniors in the gang got lion share.”After some time, he believed he had to quit from his criminal way of life. He said:“After that operation, my boss told us that he was quitting and everyone should go and look for what to do with their money. When I got home, I bought a car, rented a big apartment and I decided to go into politics. My boss also told me that he wanted to set up a local refinery so I linked him to one of my uncles who was also into such business. Before the 2015 election, I and my boss had meetings with some of the political heavy weights in Nembe Local Government and we offered to work for them during the election. To show them that I was serious, we assured that we were going to bring out our arms, ammunition and money to support them and they promised to give me pipeline surveillance contract in my area. But one month before the election, I became very broke and my boss has also invested all his money into his local refinery business, we were left with no other option than to go for one more operation.” As things changed, so also he changed his mind from calling it a day, as they went back to base, to carry out another operation. He shed light on all that happened:“Our informant, one Promise Barisnsia, who had once worked in a bank, alerted us about a bullion van that would supply money to a bank at the main Campus of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, UST. We trailed a van supplying money to the bank and we shot into the air to scare both the policemen, bank security men and workers around the bank and they absconded leaving the bullion van open. We carted away a large sum of money which our vehicle could carry. Encounter with the police “On our way out of the campus, we passed through the back gate but unknown to us, there were policemen hiding inside the bush. When I stepped out of the vehicle to open the gate, I was shot on the leg, but my boss came out and gave me a cover. We shot the gate open and escaped. But the policemen kept on chasing us. They shot at the boot of our vehicle and one of the bags containing some of the money we stole fell off and the policemen also deflated three of our tires.

We stopped another vehicle and transferred all our goods into the new vehicle and escaped. I was given N6 million as my share of the loot and I used part of it to treat my bullet wound.”Gogo did not stop on just the other operation carried out. Information had it that he spoke on his role as a personal assistant in Bayelsa state and how he brought hoodlums from Rivers, Delta and Imo states to join forces with the PDP in Bayelsa state during the election, explaining that,“when it was time for election, we brought in lots of boys, from Rivers, Delta and Imo states to work for PDP, Bayelsa state and we paid them with our own money. After the election, I was appointed a personal assistant to the chairman of Nembe local government area, who gave me a Toyota Hilux van with a government plate number. I was also linked to the Bayelsa state deputy governor. By October of that same year, some of our gang members became very broke and they called on my boss, Full Payment, asking him to allow them do one last job which would fetch us enough money to enable us quit robbery, completely. Our informant told us that money was to be supplied to a bankon Trans-Amadi road Port Harcourt.”Full Payment said another operation was also carried out after the election. He stated:“On the day of the operation, we stormed the bank with three SUVs and when the bullion van arrived to supply money, we attacked it by shooting into the air to scare people away. The bank was close to a police station and the police had blocked the route in front of their station. My boss who had a highlander drove in first and we loaded his vehicle with huge sums of money and when he was about leaving, we discovered that some soldiers had blocked the route we intended to escape through. Then, my boss decided to escape through a very narrow road linking him to Mummy be Road, but unknown to him, some policemen had already laid ambush and he drove into it. He was shot on the thigh and his driver, one Kennedy, was also shot and their vehicle came to a halt. I was behind him in another vehicle when this happened and I quickly approached him and rescued my boss. We abandoned the vehicle and all the money in it. The next day in the news, I read that the police recovered N350million from us.”While he continued his long narration, he mentioned on why he decided to quit finally,saying that,“that operation was a huge loss and my boss vowed never to participate in any robbery activity again. In December, when the governorship election came, I was given N3 million by PDP and I brought in my boys and we worked for them. We ensured that all electoral materials were intact and we prevented people from the opposition party from snatching ballot boxes. We also had some policemen working for us during that election. Between January and February, 2016, While I was waiting for PDP to fulfil the promises they made to me, and my boss was still nursing his injury, I took our rifles from Bayelsa state with the government Hilux van that was given to me and police escort and organized our boys.”Gogo said they carried out their dirty deals using vehicles owned by the government. He stated:“We attempted to rob two bullion vans, one was at Agip Junction by Ada-Gorge Road and the other was at Emenike Junction on Ikwere Road, Port-Harcourt. We failed in those operations but our informant, Promise, brought a job at Fidelity bank and warned that we must not allow the Operation Manager of the bank to leave the bank if we must succeed. We attacked the bank around 4pm. We accosted the woman while she was about leaving the bank and we took her back into the bank. We blew up the security doors, and shot indiscriminately to scare people. At the end of the operation, we retrieved the RDV from the CCTV recording machine to avoid our faces being detected. We returned to Bayelsa State with the government Hilux leading the way. We made N24million from that operation and I got N4million as my share.”While expressing his regret on how his arrest was possible, he said:“Two weeks before my arrest, I was been shortlisted as a Special Adviser to Bayelsa State Governor, and we were waiting for him to return from his trip abroad so that he would swear us into our various offices. I did not know that the police got to know about my activities. I was shocked when they trailed me to my house and arrested me and I took them to my boss and he was arrested too. Tunisian Finance Minister, Slim Chaker has announced that the country has signed a loan guarantee agreement withthe US that will allow it to borrow $500 million from the international capital markets,The agreement follows discussions held in May 2015 between US President, Barack Obama and Tunisia’s Beji Caid Essebsi and aims to support Tunisia as it continues major economic reforms that will provide the foundation for growth and prosperity. The state department further says this is the third loan guarantee that the United States is giving Tunisia after an agreement of$485 million in 2012 and another of $500 million in 2014.

The Enugu state chapter labour leader has said that Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole is the Nigerian Labour Congress worst disappointment

– The leader said Oshiomhole call for “no work no pay” during the strike action was disappointing

The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress has said that the governor of Edostate, Adams Oshiomhole is their worst disappointment since the increase in the price of fuel by the federal government.  the chairman of NLC, Enugu state chapter, Virginus Nwobodo said the union was disappointed over various comments made by Oshiomhole during the strike period.“And we are disappointed, that somebody like Adams Oshiomhole, who even while hewas in power had fought this kind of battle – under Obasanjo administration – and today even in his state, he is telling workers: no work no pay. We are disappointed in him,” Nwobodo said.He said:“He was also in state house tellingNLC that the price increase is not bad, that it is good. In fact if we not disappointed in Buhari – we may look at Buhari and say maybe because of his understanding about the economy – but Adams understands political economy more than Buhari, I suppose.”He said the Edo governor understands political economics more than the president and should be wise enough to know what to do any particular time in relation to that.“He understands who should do what and at what time,”he said.Nwobodo said the strike was called off after the union review some of its actions and realsied the Nigerian populace was suffering more“The FG was saying if we do not call off they would not continue with the discussions – like an ego issue – that is not right, we are in a democratic system, a government of the people for the people.“Not just Tinubu, so many prominent Nigerians visited the secretariat over this issues, they urged the NLC to call off the strike and allow discussions between the FG and NLC leaders.“There was already hardship in the land, the masses for which he is meant to protect, benefit may also begin to think that maybe we have a hand in their hardship or another interest. Already, the TUC have betrayed the masses and backed out another set of people in the NLC too sold out for some selfish reasons. Because there is election and you are not happy with the way it was conducted, you go to court and seek redress,”Nwobodo said.
Speaking on the disobedience of court order by the labour union, Nwobodo debunked claims in the media that the NLCwas served with a court injunction retraining it from embarking on strike.He said:“No, there was no court order served to the NLC by the federal government, we were not aware, it was not served. We only heard it on the television, radio but did not physically receive anything; if you have served me, I would sign an acknowledgement that I received this ooo!”“There was no injunction, we heard about the injunction but did not get anything.“In the morning of that day, we were watching TV when they said, court restrains NLC from embarking on strike and we finished that meeting till around 5pm or 6pm and there was no injunction, it is a game.“And besides federal government have refused to honour injunctions and court orders in this country, we even have the right to accuse them but they do not have the right to accuse us because they did notserve us.“Also, the procedure of the National Industrial Court is circumvented already, we are labour leaders and we know what NIC represent. It is our court,”Nwobodo added.
The president of the NLC, Ayuba in Abuja had said that the strike was called of action was taken in the best interest of the poor and the weak.Having called off the strike, the labour leaders have also gone back to negotiatingwith the federal government on the fuel price that was increased from N86.50 to N145 per litre.

– The body of resident doctors vowed that the strike which will begin tomorrow, Thursday, June 9 will be indefinite Dr Muhammad Askira, president of the body of resident doctors made this known to journalists on Tuesday, June 7.

The president of NARD stated that the decision to embark on a nationwide strike, was taken at the ordinary general meeting of the national executive council of the association, which was held between May 30 and June 5, at Jos, the capital of Plateau  state, North-central Nigeria. He added:“Due to the failure of the government to address the demands of NARD, it has declared a total and indefinite strike.“NARD has to take this painful decision in order to highlight the plight of our hardworking members who have had to endure a long period of deprivation and disenfranchisement.”It was a shameful thing to know, regarding refusal to pay workers’ salary by the government,

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday heard that a former Chief of Air Staff, Mohammed Umar, had commenced an out-of-court settlement negotiation in the money laundering charge against him.
Mr. Umar is being tried on a seven-count charge of laundering N4.8 billion, while he was Chief of Air Staff.
He had pleaded not guilty and was granted bail by Justice Binta Nyako on self-recognition.
At the resumed hearing on Tuesday, Mr. Umar’s Counsel, Hassan Liman, informed the court of moves by his client to have the matter settled out of court.
Mr. Liman said his client held meetings with officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He said the first meeting, involving the head of the legal department of the commission, the prosecuting counsel and Mr. Umar, was held on May 31 while another meeting was held on June 3.
He said that in attendance at both meetings was a member of the EFCC’s task force, Ibrahim Musa, and the prosecution counsel, Sylvanus Tahir.
He said it was resolved that the defendant should send a formal communication to the commission.

Mr Liman further disclosed that a formal letter addressed to the Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, dated June 6, had already been dispatched.
Confirming the development, the prosecuting counsel said he was aware that the defendant wrote to the chairman of the commission.
He said that in the letter, the defendant was seeking to engage the Federal Government in a discussion over the charge.
“I also confirm that there were meetings between the defendant and the commission where I was also in attendance,’’ Mr. Tahir said.
When the matter was called, the prosecuting counsel said they were ready for the trial, but Mr. Liman said that it would be prejudicial to commence trial.
Mr. Liman said this was in view of the ongoing attempt to settle out of court.
He urged the court to grant an adjournment to enable them proceed with the out-of-court settlement in spite of the fact that the matter had been set down for trial.
The prosecuting counsel, however, insisted that the out-of-court settlement was not a ground to stop trial since it was not a civil matter.
Mr. Tahir urged the court to order the commencement of trial.
Justice Nyako, however, held that trial could not commence since the condition precedent for trial had not been met by the defence.
Mrs. Nyako said the defence ought to have filed a summary of defence for the trial to commence.
She adjourned the matter till June 16 for commencement of trial.

The Nigerian government has ordered the immediate withdrawal of troops from communities in the Niger Delta region, amid allegations of a heavy-handed military response to renewed attacks on oil and gas installations in the area.
A new group called the Niger Delta Avengers has declared war on the installations, vowing to ground Nigeria’s oil production.
The group, which says it wants a sovereign state of the Niger Delta, has attacked several facilities in recent weeks, cutting oil and gas production and forcing oil companies to shut some export terminals.
Residents of the area have however complained of harassment and indiscriminate arrests by soldiers hunting the militants.
The government said it was withdrawing troops immediately. Soldiers will continue to patrol the waterways.
The decision was taken at a meeting between Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, governors from states in the Niger Delta region, some ministers and service chiefs.
The minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, had on Monday announced that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed a two-week cessation of military offensive in the Niger Delta region, to enable the government dialogue with the militants.
Speaking to journalists after Tuesday’s meeting, Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, said, “We have also agreed that there is a need to distill military operations directly in communities, but the military need to actually remain on our waterways to ensure that we adequately man the waterways itself while we engage the communities and that engagement process is starting any moment from now”.

Mr. Okowa said during the meeting they received briefings on the current state of things and agreed that a synergy, especially in a form of intelligence sharing, between the Federal Government and the States would help in tackling the problem.
“We have taken a lot of decisions which will help us mitigate what is going on currently in the states particularly Bayelsa and Delta.
“One of such is that there is a need for us to share intelligence which is very important and for us to be proactive, working together with the various stakeholders in the states to achieve a better result
going forward,” he said.
He said the decision of withdrawing the troops took was to begin immediately.
Others at the meeting include the governors of Edo, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Ondo and Rivers State. The deputy governor of Cross River State also attended the meeting.
All service chiefs, ministers of Niger Delta, Petroleum (state) and Defence were also in attendance.
The Edo state governor, Mr. Oshiomhole, told journalists that Nigeria was not at war as the government was ready to address the conflict.
“If we have conflicts, we will talk through those conflicts. There are laws that have to be enforced. I think that in all of these the whole idea is to find peace that is functional, that creates an environment for very decent Nigerians to live their lives,” he said.

One of the most iconic captains of the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, and former coach of the team, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, is dead, his family has announced.
He was 54.
Emmanuel Ado a brother to the late coach told PREMIUM TIMES the 54-year-old died of Cardiac arrest in the early hours of Wednesday, June 8.
“With thanksgiving to God, the Ogbuenyi Fredrick Keshi family of Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, announces the death of Mr. Stephen Okechukwu Chinedu Keshi,” Mr. Ado said in a statement.
He continued “Our son, brother, father, father-in-law, brother-in-law, has gone to be with his wife of 35 years (Nkem ), Mrs. Kate Keshi, who passed on on the 9th December 2015.
“Since her death, Keshi has been in mourning. He came back to Nigeria to be with her. He had planned to fly back today Wednesday, before he suffered a cardiac arrest. He has found rest.”
Though deeply mourning the shock exit, Mr. Ado said the family remained grateful to God for the life spent by the Big Boss.
Mr. Keshi had lost his wife of 35 years, Kate, to cancer last December.

Mr Keshi, popularly called the Big Boss, is the only Nigerian coach to have won the Africa Cup of Nations.
He also became the second person in history to win the competition as a player and as a coach after Mahmoud El-Gohary of Egypt when he led the Super Eagles to win the tournament in 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He rose to national prominence when debuted for the Super Eagles in 1981 at age 20. The late Central Defender withdrew from the national team in 1994. He had 64 caps and scored nine goals.
As coach, he qualified an unlikely Togolese national team for the 2006 World Cup in Germany but was sacked and replaced with German Otto Pfister, just before the tournament.
He however, achieved his dream to manage a team at the World Cup when he coached the Super Eagles side to the tournament in 2014.
He is the fifth member of the glorious 1994 Super Eagles team to die, after Uche Okafor, Thompson Oliha, Rashidi Yekini and Wilfred Agbonavbare.
He is survived by four children and his mother.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday partially fulfilled his promise to publish specific details of funds traced to and recovered from corrupt former government officials as part of his war against endemic graft.
The names of the corrupt officials from whom the assets were recovered were however not disclosed.
Details of the recoveries, published by the Federal Ministry of Information, showed that the Nigerian government successfully retrieved total cash amount N78,325,354,631.82, $185,119,584.61, £3,508,355.46 and €11, 250 between May 29, 2015 and May 25, 2016.
Also released were recoveries under interim forfeiture, which were a combination of cash and assets, during the same period: N126,563,481,095.43, $9,090,243,920.15, £2,484,447.55 and €303,399.17.
Anticipated repatriation from foreign countries totaled: $321,316,726.1, £6,900,000 and €11,826.11.
The ministry also announced that 239 non-cash recoveries were made during the one-year period.
The non-cash recoveries are – farmlands, plots of land, uncompleted buildings, completed buildings, vehicles and maritime vessels, the ministry said.
Since May 29, the president had endured intense criticism from the Nigerian public who criticised him for failing to fulfill a promise he made on May 14 in London.

The Federal Government made cash recoveries totaling N78,325,354,631.82 (Seventy eight billion, three hundred and twenty-five million, three hundred and fifty-four thousand, six hundred and thirty one Naira and eighty two kobo); $185,119,584.61 (One hundred and eight five million, one hundred and nineteen thousand, five hundred and eighty four US dollars, sixty one cents); 3,508,355.46 Pounds Sterling (Three million, five hundred and eight thousand, three hundred and fifty-five Pounds and 46 Pence) and 11, 250 Euros (Eleven thousand, two hundred and fifty Euros) from 29 May 2015 to 25 May 2016.
In a statement in Lagos on Saturday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, also disclosed that recoveries under interim forfeiture (cash and assets) during the period totalled N126,563,481,095.43 (One hundred and twenty six billion, five hundred and sixty three million, four hundred and eighty one thousand, and ninety five Naira, forty three Kobo; $9,090,243,920.15 (Nine billion, ninety million, two hundred and forty three thousand, nine hundred and twenty Dollars, fifteen cents; 2,484,447.55 Pounds Sterling (Two million, four hundred and eighty four thousand, four hundred and forty seven Pounds, fifty five Pence) and 303,399.17 Euros (Three hundred and three thousand, three hundred and ninety-nine Euros, 17 cents ).
According to the statement, which is based on the interim report on the financial and assets recoveries made by the various government agencies from 29 May 2015 to 25 May 2016, the funds awaiting return from foreign jurisdictions total $321,316,726.1 (Three hundred and twenty one million, three hundred and sixteen thousand, seven hundred and twenty six Dollars, one cent); 6,900,000 Pounds (Six million, nine hundred thousand Pounds) and 11,826.11 Euros (Eleven thousand, eight hundred and twenty six Euros, 11 cents).
It showed that non-cash recoveries (Farmlands, Plots of Land, Uncompleted Buildings, Completed Buildings, Vehicles and Maritime Vessels) during the period total 239.
The following is the breakdown of the recovered cash and assets

– The south south zone APC believes the PDP is responsible for the renewed militancy in the Niger Delta region

The party said the attacks were sponsored to derail President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, Vanguard reports.This was contained in a communiqué issued by party leaders from the five states in the south south at the end of a stakeholders meeting in Benin City.
The communiqué reads in part: “The Zone notes the upsurge of the renewed militancy in the area, in the name of ‘The Avengers’ and condemns its activities in its entirety. The Zone does not believe that their nefarious activities are driven by any patriotic fervor, rather we have cause to believe that they are instigated by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party to derail President Buhari’s government in order to avoid the long arm of the law on their criminal activities while in government.”On the agitation for Biafra, the party said it was erroneous for agitators for the state of Biafra to categorise any part of the south south as part of constituency.“The Zone notes the present agitation for the State of Biafra and the inclusion of the Niger Delta in the map of the constituency representing the Biafra State.“The Zone states unequivocally that Niger Delta is not, cannot, will never be and can never be part of Biafra” saying the “Niger Delta is not, cannot, and will never be part of Biafra,” the party noted.The APC stakeholders also praised Governor Adams Oshiomhole for his “commendable performance” in the deliveryof infrastructure in Edo state.

Senator Joseph Kennedy N Waku who is a chieftain of the Arewa Consultative Forum has challenged the Niger Delta to drink their oil and they would hold on to their agriculture. In an interview with Vanguard, Waku criticised militants in the Niger Delta region for blowing pipelines and trying to hold the government ransom. When asked about what he thought about trying to dialogue with the militants, Waku said:“What kind of dialogue? Let them bring to table what they want. Let them do what they are doing, they will also suffer it. Are they also not suffering when they ruin the economy? Are they not facing the same problem like you and I? They are talking of marginalization today.

If you create Biafra today, is Biafra solidly Igbo’s? It’s not. When you go there, you would find a southern minority who will tell you that they don’t want to be part of it, even among the Igbo. Some Igbo will tell you that they don’t want it. If there is definitive kind of discrimination against certain segments of the country, that needs to be addressed because injustice creates dissatisfaction. If there have been injustices against one particular group in this country, let’s address it and not by taking the law into their hands.That is criminality. We are also affected but we want to take it in a matured approach. You cannot go and begin to destroy state apparatus in order to achieve your agitation, it is against the law. I am not in a position to talk about which contract was revoked because I am not involved in that. If those contracts were illegally awarded without going through the due process and the current administration wants to follow due process, what is bad about that? Go and do your investigation on that contract to see whether the old law that qualifies one for such contracts were made. What do you award contracts to militants for? In the first place, the name ‘militant’ is criminality. It is only this country that somebody will come back and say I am a militant and then‘you award him contract.’ If they claim to be agitators as they are saying, then let them come out with their demands and not by holding the state to ransom.”“What do they need? Let them come out and tell government that ‘this has been our farmland, it has been devastated, we have no land to farm anymore’ and then bring a proposal to the federal government. This is how it should be done than issuing threats. If I were the president, I would have ended that thing by now. “Yes, by closing the whole thing down. Before oil came, didn’t this country exist? So, what are you talking about? We have been blindfolded and Nigeria became so lazy, a nation of cheap money. The new Niger Delta militant group has saidthat President Muhammadu Buhari is set for the final breakup of Nigeria, Daily Post reports.The group naming itself the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF) has emerged recently.It threatened to launch six missiles in the region on June 7 in an operation it said would surprise Nigerians and the entire world.The militants demanded that the Nigerian army must peacefully leave Ijaw communities and promised to bring down military helicopters if any to be deployed.The group said that their missiles are capable of bringing down any aircraft no matter how big. The statement of the group, that affiliated with Niger Delta Avengers, was signed by General Akotebe Darikoro, Commander, General Duties; General Torunnanaowei Latei, Creeks Network Coordinator; General Agbakakuro Owei-Tauro, Pipelines BleedingExpert; and General Pulokiri Ebiladei of its Intelligence Bureau.It reads: “We have seen and noted that President Muhammadu Buhari (a.k.a. Pharaoh) is set for the final breakup of the country. Mr. Buhari should also know that we are also prepared and set for his proposal. The Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) which is the highest organ of all the freedom fighting body has finally endorsed the followings:“1. After extensive and exhaustive deliberation by all Commanders of various groups in Yenagoa, the heart of the Niger Delta struggle met last night and as part of our mission, we are going to test six (6) of our MISSILES in the region. This is to show the federal government of our readiness of the American prediction.

“2. There should be NO any form of helicopter to fly around in the region as we will not guarantee the safety of such object.

“3. The people of the Niger Delta region should not be panic in course of test running the 6 MISSILES.

“4. We may also decide within the week to shut down the Nigerian satellite orbit, so that there will be no communication in the country if needs arise.

“5. Within our three (3) days operations, NO airplane should fly out of the country because it can target such object no matter how small or big it may be.

“6. Our Fighter Expert Team shall be positioned in the six (6) Niger Delta states, who are already arrived the region from training through our country’s porous borders with our foreign partners who are going to showcase what they have learnt in the past one year.

“7. Our struggle is not for any human blood, but we have been pushed to the wall for justice because our patience is running out on a daily basis as Nigerian uniform men are killing our innocent people continuously.

“8. Nigerian military should as a matter of urgency leave peacefully the Ijaw communities they are presently in, the next 48 hours under the guise of searching for the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) or else we should not be blamed of whatever catastrophe that may befall such officers and the likely affected families of the officers should be blamed not the region

9. We have consulted our war gods (deities) that enough is enough and that thetime has come. Since the present Pharaoh of Nigeria, President Buhari is to preside over the disintegration of the country, it is a good omen.“

10. Henceforth, any attack on Ijaw communities or person(s) by the military or para-military body in the region, we will not hesitate to order our shoot-at-sight squad of any uniform personnel in the region.
“11. We ask all Service Chiefs including Minister of Defence to shamefully resign their positions because Nigeria has no security in whatever form. Bravo to our Foreign Marine Crack Team for their ability to shut down Nigerian obsolete surveillanceequipments.

“12. For the records, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) are not in Delta state, we only go there to strike and return back safely to the struggle base, Bayelsa state.

“13. We further warn especially, Mr. Jonathan Obuebite, Information Commissioner in Bayelsa state not to criticize our activities any longer or else he has a choice of leaving the planet earth anytime he made such statement(s).

“14. All oil and gas operations should shut down immediately as our MISSILES testing will affect their equipments.

“15. NOTE, we shall commence MISSILES testing on Tuesday 7, June 2016 which coincides with the date of our training abroad. Since the present Pharaoh of Nigeria (Buhari) has failed us in our demands, we promise Nigerians and the entire world that we are going to surprise them.”

About two weeks ago President Muhammadu Buhari said he was going to reveal the names of people who had voluntarily returned looted public funds on Democracy day. The president in an interview in London after attending a four-day international summit on anti-corruption hosted by the British government, also said he would mention the total amount recovered so far by his government. However, May 29 went by, but Nigerians were not told the identity of those who looted the nations funds.

Though the government said it was constrained by legal exigencies, there was also political exigencies involved that put a stop to the planned naming and shaming of the looters, Ripples Nigeria reports. It was gathered that some political heavyweights waded in to analyse the collateral risks of such venture to the president. The political heavyweights led by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, explained to Buhari that naming looters might set the nation on fire. A source in the presidency said: “You know these looters have hangers-on and beneficiaries that are willing to die for them. “The truth is that corruption is the biggest industry in this country. Now, if you name the looters, you are fighting an entrenched cabal and this government can do without such battle for now.” He also noted that the mood of the nation is not disposed to naming looters, with many Nigerians complaining of cash crunch. It was also alleged that Obasanjo told the president that if he name looters, Nigerians will go after them and that the government cannot handle the mob action.

Anti-corruption agencies have also advised against the move, stating that the figures of recovered loots should be published. Meanwhile, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has commenced contempt proceedings against the federal government, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, and Alhaji Ahmed Idris, Accountant-General of the Federation for failing to comply with the judgment to publish the amount of recovered stolen funds spent.

She confessed that she used what was described as a ‘remote control’ via concoction to make her husband unable to impregnate any woman following frequent disagreements between them.

According to Leadership, the woman had in October 2014 threatened to make life unbearable for the husband whose second wife had complained of abandonment and lack of conjugal attention from the husband, for over five years, a threat that resulted in family meeting where the woman (Mama Patience) was fined two goats and some tubers of yam to appease the gods of the land.

In the course of the disagreement, the woman was accused of using diabolical powers but she faulted the claims and dismissed them as evil plots from her haters.

It was disclosed from sources that the husband had taken up a new wife after being married to the woman for over twenty years without any issue.

This condition led him to marrying a second wife, an action which generated sparks from various angles.

Confessing her evil act before a large crowd of persons, the woman said, “Yes, I mixed up a concoction to prove a point to my husband when he told me that he can no longer sleep with me and would rather go back to the second wife.

“The concoction, which was prepared for me by a native doctor in a neighbouring community, was to render him impotent. He took it and there was result.”

In reaction to the confession, a family member who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the family had concluded plans to banish the woman from the community.
